Deciding on a particular psychologist or psychotherapist can be difficult and anxiety-provoking. You may want to ask your physician, a friend, or perhaps a minister for a referral. Since I have been in the Johnson County area for many years, it is quite possible that someone you know may have heard of me. In the end, there is no way to predict if a particular therapist will be a good fit for you, but you should feel free to make a change if you are dissatisfied after three or four sessions.
My practice is limited to adults of all ages.
There are two ways that you can schedule an appointment with me.
If you call my office, you will need to leave a voicemail message for me. Please speak clearly, and leave your name, your phone number, and convenient times for me to return your call. I try to return calls several times per day, and almost always by the end of the business day.
You will be asked to provide certain information when you schedule your first appointment. This includes demographic information, such as your name, your date of birth, address and phone number.
In addition, if you plan to use health insurance, you will need to provide the name of the primary policyholder, his or her bithday, as well as the member ID, group number and certain other information which is listed on your insurance card. Be sure to have that information ready when you make your first appointment.
Regardless of which method you use to schedule your appointment, there are several documents that you may want to download before you come to your first appointment. You can download these documents in Adobe Reader format by clicking on "Document Downloads" in the directory on the left of the screen. Completing those documents ahead of time allows more time for our first session. However, if you are unable to do this, you will be provided with those documents in the office prior to our first session.
